In 2001, at 40 years old, Ginger Rock felt it was time for a drastic change. She underwent bariatric surgery — one of the most life-changing procedures — at Northside Hospital Atlanta.
Almost 22 years after bariatric surgery, Ginger is living life to the fullest and helping other bariatric patients along the way. After her surgery, Ginger felt it was her duty to help others struggling with obesity. Ginger earned her nursing degree and later received a position as a bariatric clinical coordinator at Northside Hospital.
Now 61, Ginger is passionate about helping others through the bariatric process by leading support groups. Through Northside's support group, Ginger gives her patients the guidance and encouragement they need to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
