Northside Hospital Heart Institute’s Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists are physicians who specialize in the care of patients undergoing cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, and other procedures involving the heart. They have extensive experience with cardiovascular disease, including fellowship training, subspecialty certification in Adult Cardiac Anesthesiology, and board certification in heart ultrasound (TEE).
Our Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists care for patients undergoing surgical procedures such as coronary artery bypass, valve repair or replacement, and aortic repair. They also provide care in the catheterization and electrophysiology labs for catheter-based interventions such as percutaneous valve repair or replacement, percutaneous closure of congenital defects (atrial septal defects), and closure of the left atrial appendage. All of these procedures often require precise imaging guidance using ultrasound, another service provided by our anesthesiologists.
