Northside Hospital is pleased to announce that Northside/DeKalb Imaging Center is now Northside/DeKalb Imaging & Breast Care Center. The Center is located at 2859 North Decatur Road, Decatur, Georgia 30033.
Beginning Sept. 13, the new Northside/DeKalb Imaging & Breast Care Center is dedicated to the screening and early diagnosis of breast
cancer in women. Comprehensive women’s imaging services
include high definition 2D and 3D mammography- screening and diagnostic, bone density,
breast MRI, fast breast MRI, breast ultrasound, ultrasound-guided breast biopsy, and cyst aspirations – all performed in a convenient outpatient setting. Same and next-day appointments are available.
“Inconvenience is one of the biggest reasons many women delay their annual mammogram,” said Lynn Baxter, M.D., director of breast imaging at Northside Hospital. “We hope that by increasing access to high quality breast imaging with excellent patient care that is close to home, we can save more women’s lives.”
One in eight women will develop breast cancer sometime during her lifetime. Early detection is the best protection. Northside Hospital Cancer Institute Breast Cancer Program is among the largest breast cancer programs in the country and one of the nation’s leading providers of breast cancer diagnostic and treatment services. Northside offers high definition 3D mammography imaging to patients at all breast imaging locations.
Each of Northside’s women’s imaging centers offers computer-aided detection technology, which offers “a second set of eyes” on every mammogram performed.
“Northside Hospital is committed to providing women with the education and resources they need to stay healthy,” said Dr. Baxter. “We are excited to expand our state-of-the-art women’s imaging services in DeKalb County.”
Additional services provided at Northside/DeKalb Imaging & Breast Care Center include arthrograms, CT, CT cardiac calcium scoring, CT Lung Screen – Low Dose, MRI (1.5T), ultrasound, and X-ray.
