Effective March 1, 2022, Northside Hospital has sold its interests in Atlanta-based Sovereign Rehabilitation to two well-known and highly accomplished physical therapy companies.
Sovereign Rehabilitation was founded in Atlanta in 1982 and has been a valuable Northside Network Provider since 2017.
Atlanta Rehabilitation & Performance Center was founded in 2001. It is based in Snellville, Georgia and currently has 14 locations, largely in the Gwinnett region and northeast Georgia. Many of the schools in the Gwinnett area work with Atlanta Rehab, which provides important treatment and recovery services for student athletes.
Atlanta Rehab will acquire three Sovereign facilities – Lawrenceville, Chamblee and Conyers.
PT Solutions, based in Cobb County, has enjoyed significant growth since its first clinic opened in 2002. Today, it has nearly 300 locations in 22 states including Georgia, staffed by 2,400 professionals.
PT Solutions will acquire seven Sovereign locations –Cumming, Decatur, Hapeville, Stockbridge, East Cobb, Loganville, and Midtown.
Northside will retain two hospital-based Sovereign clinic locations – one on the Northside Hospital Cherokee campus and one located at 5555 Peachtree Dunwoody Road. The Cherokee location opened in late 2019, and will be renamed Northside Hospital - Canton Outpatient Rehabilitation Services.
By increasing its focus on hospital-based rehabilitation resources, Northside can offer broader and more diverse medical services to patients and their families – with better accessibility, convenience, and efficiency.
