Northside recognized with multiple awards for expertise, quality care

Through consistent quality standards of care, Northside Hospital has an unwavering focus on advancing the health and wellness of the communities it serves. Northside’s employees and physicians and their efforts to deliver safe, high-quality care have earned multiple awards and recognitions over the past quarter. 


Northside earns national accreditation from Commission on Cancer

The American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer (CoC) has granted Three-Year Accreditation to Northside Hospital Cancer Institute, as a result of surveys performed in 2022.

Established in 1922, the CoC is a consortium of professional organizations dedicated to improving patient outcomes and quality of life for cancer patients through standard-setting, prevention, research, education, and the monitoring of comprehensive, quality care. 

Northside earned the voluntary accreditation as an Integrated Network Cancer Program by meeting 34 CoC quality care standards, being evaluated every three years through a survey process, and maintaining levels of excellence in the delivery of comprehensive patient-centered care. Learn more.


Northside Breast Cancer Programs reaccredited by national organization

NAPBCThe American College of Surgeons’ National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), which recognizes centers from around the country that have achieved the highest quality breast care programs, has reaccredited two Breast Cancer Programs within the Northside Hospital Cancer Institute network.

Northside earned the voluntary accreditations by demonstrating its commitment to providing the best possible care to patients with diseases of the breast. The health system underwent a rigorous evaluation and review of its performance and compliance with NAPBC Standards.


Northside Gwinnett recognized for quality pneumonia care

Northside Hospital Gwinnett has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Pneumonia Certification.

The Gold Seal is a symbol of quality that reflects a health care organization’s commitment to providing safe and quality patient care. The Joint Commission’s standards are developed in consultation with health care experts and providers, measurement experts, and patients. They are informed by scientific literature and expert consensus to help health care organizations measure, assess and improve performance. The surveyors also conducted onsite observations and interviews.
