Northside Hospital Heart Institute's Dr. Marcus Brown was recently featured on FOX 5’s Portia. He participated in a life-saving discussion with the American Heart Association about the importance of CPR training.
"Sadly, each year, over 350,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests occur in the United States, and 90% of these people die," said Dr. Brown. "If more people learned CPR, this could double or triple a person’s chance of survival, especially if performed immediately.
"In 2009, the American Heart Association launched a nationwide Hands-Only CPR campaign to raise awareness about this life-saving skill. As an interventional cardiologist with Northside Hospital Heart Institute and president of the Board of Directors of the Metro Atlanta American Heart Association, this initiative is one that I am very passionate about."
