Northside Breast Surgery-Atlanta joins the Northside Network
Northside Breast Surgery-Atlanta is a full-service practice that specializes in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of breast cancer, benign breast diseases and the management of patients at high risk for breast cancer.
Surgeons – Drs. Laurel Barnes, Iqbal Garcha, Patrick Luke, Janine Pettiford and Thomas Wood – are skillfully trained to offer patients the latest in diagnostics and minimally-invasive breast surgery.

Northside Hospital Cancer Institute welcomes new providers
Dr. Arvind Aggarwal is a board-certified physician in medical oncology, hematology and internal medicine. He began seeing patients on Sept. 25 at Georgia Cancer Specialists in Macon and Milledgeville. Dr. Aggarwal specializes in targeted therapies for cancer treatment and clinical trials.
Dr. Laurel A. Barnes is a fellowship-trained breast surgeon. She specializes in breast surgical oncology, benign breast diseases, and the management of patients at high risk for breast cancer. Dr. Barnes began seeing patients on Oct. 1 at Northside Breast Surgery-Atlanta.
Dr. Shailesh Satpute is a board-certified physician in medical oncology, hematology and internal medicine. He has more than 10 years of experience in benign and malignant hematology; diagnosis, treatment and management of cancer; teaching; research and clinical trials. He began seeing patients on Oct. 1 at Georgia Cancer Specialists in Alpharetta and Sandy Springs.
Northside Hospital Heart Institute welcomes new providers, new office and receives community honor
Dr. Erin Galbraith is a board-certified interventional cardiologist who specializes in coronary angiography and coronary artery interventions. She is an expert in the radial approach and has performed over 5,000 angiograms and more than 2,000 percutaneous coronary interventions. Dr. Galbraith began seeing patients at Northside Hospital Cardiovascular Institute on Oct. 2.
Dr. Azad Karim is a board-certified cardiothoracic physician with clinical interests in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery. Dr. Karim began seeing patients at Northside Cardiac Surgery in Lawrenceville on Oct. 9.
Northside Cardiac Surgery recently opened a new office in Holly Springs. The address is 684 Sixes Road, Suite 230, Holly Springs, Georgia 30115. Dr. A. Northside expands primary care network
Dr. Yassmin Shariff has joined Northside Peachtree Corners Primary Care. She began seeing patients on Sept. 18. Dr. Shariff is a board-certified physician in family medicine, specializing in women’s health.
Dr. Zachary Cohen has joined Northside Decatur Primary Care. He began seeing patients in Decatur on Oct. 1. Dr. Cohen is a board-certified physician in family medicine, and he also treats patients at Northside Peachtree Corners Primary Care.
Dr. Stephen Berry has joined Northside Dahlonega Primary Care. He began seeing patients on Oct. 1. Dr. Berry is a board-certified physician in internal medicine with more than 25 years of patient care experience. His clinical interests include nutrition and exercise.
Northside Spine and Pain Specialists joins the Northside network
Now called Northside Interventional Pain and Spine Care, the group continues its commitment to delivering comprehensive, conservative and patient-focused pain management.
Northside Interventional Pain and Spine Care physicians are fellowship-trained in interventional pain management and are board-certified in anesthesiology. The group has four locations — in Atlanta, Canton, Cumming and Lawrenceville. Learn more at northsidepainandspine.com.
Sports Medicine expands in Snellville
Several physicians affiliated with Northside Hospital Orthopedic Institute – Sports Medicine will see patients in the new Northside Medical Snellville beginning Oct. 23.
- Dr. Todd Bonvallet specializes in orthopedic surgery, orthopedics and spine and back. He also sees patients through NHOI – Sports Medicine in Lawrenceville and Sandy Springs.
- Dr. Saif Zaman specializes in orthopedic surgery and orthopedics. He also sees patients through NHOI – Sports Medicine in Alpharetta and Cumming.
- Dr. Elan Golan specializes in orthopedic surgery, orthopedics and sports medicine. He is part of Sports Medicine South of Gwinnett.
- Dr. William Moeller specializes in orthopedics and orthopedic surgery. He sees patients with Sports Medicine South of Gwinnett in Lawrenceville and Snellville.
- Dr. Robert Wood specializes in orthopedic surgery and orthopedics. He also sees patients in Braselton, Cumming, Duluth and Lawrenceville.

New surgeons join Northside surgical program
Dr. R. Tushar Jha is a board-certified neurosurgeon with fellowship training in complex cranial and skull base neurosurgery. He provides minimally invasive and endoscopic surgical approaches to treat conditions of the brain and spine. Dr. Jha began seeing patients on Oct. 23 at Southeastern Neurosurgical Specialists in Sandy Springs.
Dr. Edward Long is a board-eligible surgeon, specializing in minimally invasive procedures, including laparoscopy and robotic surgery. He began seeing patients on Sept. 1 at Chattahoochee Surgical Group in Cumming.
Dr. Katie Tuggle joins Women’s Specialists of Northside Gwinnett
Dr. Katie Tuggle is an obstetrician and gynecologist who provides comprehensive care for women of all ages. She has a particular interest in high-risk pregnancies, abnormal uterine bleeding, family planning and postpartum care. Dr. Tuggle began seeing patients at Women’s Specialists of Northside Gwinnett on Oct. 1.
