Therapist’s love of dance continues in her work

Cecilee-Wicked NC

Cecilee Fleming, PT, DPT, is living her childhood dreams.

She grew up singing and dancing but also loved science. That combination led her to a career as a physical therapist who specializes in performing arts.

After earning her Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Florida, she went on the road to support the national tours of “Dirty Dancing” (2014-15) and “Wicked The Musical” (2015-18). For both musicals, she was the only medical provider on the tours.

Since then, she’s come to Georgia mostly for work in outpatient clinics. Fleming also created continuing education courses for other physical therapists who want to get into the work of helping dancers.

“I love doing professional stuff, but I also enjoy working with teens,” Fleming said. She noted that there is emerging science related to teens and physical therapy.

In addition to her work at Forsyth Outpatient Rehabilitation Services, Fleming works with local dance studios and the Atlanta Ballet and was on set to assist the performers with “So You Think You Can Dance.”

Prospective patients who would like to work with Fleming may call the main number of Forsyth Rehab – 770-844-3650 – and ask for an appointment with her specifically, and indicate the patient is a dancer.
