Northside Hospital Gwinnett has redeveloped its dedicated orthopedic trauma service as of Tuesday, Oct. 1, providing an enhanced option for people with orthopedic injuries. This program responds to the growing incidence of trauma-related injuries due to active lifestyles and accidents.
Why it matters: With the rise in fractures, dislocations and soft tissue injuries, the expanded service aims to deliver specialized care in Gwinnett County. Northside Gwinnett is committed to improving patient outcomes by using experienced surgeons and advanced surgical techniques tailored to the needs of trauma patients.
- No longer will patients from Gwinnett and surrounding counties have to travel outside the region to receive expert care for orthopedic trauma needs
Who’s involved: Dr. Adam Boissonneault and Dr. Michael Maceroli lead the program. They come to Northside with experience in orthopedic trauma and previously were affiliated with Grady Memorial Hospital.
What’s offered: Orthopedic surgeons will be available 24/7 for acute trauma cases, ensuring immediate care for patients.
- Advanced surgical techniques are used, with specialized treatment for complex fractures, dislocations and soft tissue injuries.
- Custom rehabilitation programs focus on physical therapy and pain management and tailored to each patient’s recovery needs.
- Comprehensive follow-up programs will be offered, with regular monitoring of recovery progress and adaptable treatment plans
Location: Dr. Boissonneault and Dr. Maceroli will see patients for complicated fractures through their clinic at 631 Professional Drive, Suite 170, in Lawrenceville. The clinic’s phone number is 678-312-2663, and no referral is needed.
What they’re saying: Micki Gulley, director of program development and quality for the Northside Hospital Orthopedic Institute, said the new program enhances community service by bringing orthopedic trauma care closer to home, and noted that specialized care often results in better patient outcomes due to focused resources and expertise. “We want to get patients healed and back to doing the things they love,” Gulley said. “We can do this by having such expert and specialized care here at Northside Gwinnett.”
- “We share in Northside’s passion to deliver expert-level patient care within a network that continues to be willing to grow and adapt to the needs of our community,” Dr. Boissonneault said.
- “The program will be the primary hub and beacon of orthopedic trauma care not only within Gwinnett County, but the state of Georgia,” Dr. Maceroli said.
