McCarthy Building Companies recently contributed $75,000 to Northside Hospital to support breast cancer services and outreach. The funds were raised during McCarthy’s fourth annual Pink Ribbon Classic golf tournament on Oct. 2 in Atlanta.

The donation to the Northside Hospital Breast Cancer Fund will go toward the purchase of a Faxitron® Trident® HD Specimen Radiography System, a next-generation radiography solution that provides clear, detailed images during breast surgeries or biopsies, helping confirm tissue markers and margins right in the operating room. This means faster results without the need to send samples elsewhere or delay care.

Northside Hospital Atlanta currently has two Trident HD systems. Additional technology is needed to meet growth in breast cancer surgical cases.

“We’re grateful for McCarthy’s ongoing commitment to breast cancer awareness and support,” said Emily Mills, vice president of clinical operations, Northside Hospital, and chief operating officer of Northside Hospital Atlanta. “This generous donation will help us broaden our outreach and ensure that more women in our community have access to early detection services and comprehensive breast cancer care.”

“Northside Hospital is among the nation’s leading providers of breast cancer diagnostic and treatment services,” added Patti Owen, director, Northside Hospital Cancer Institute. “By expanding treatment options, we’re one step closer to improving outcomes for everyone.”

“At McCarthy, we take great pride in giving back to the communities where we work and live,” said Justis Brogan, senior vice president and Atlanta business unit leader at McCarthy. “Breast cancer awareness is a cause close to our hearts, and we’re thrilled to support Northside Hospital in providing state-of-the-art care. We’re confident that our donation will help improve early detection and make a meaningful difference for patients and their families for years to come.”

McCarthy Building Companies has had a long-standing partnership with Northside Hospital, most recently working on construction projects at Northside Atlanta and Northside Forsyth.
