After years of medical school and a relentless passion for sports medicine, which included a sports medicine fellowship at Northside, Dr. Herrera is back where it all started ... Northside Hospital. 

Today, Dr. Herrera is a family medicine physician at Newtown Medical, a Northside network provider.

Dr. Diego F. Herrera is a board-certified physician in family medicine, osteopathic family medicine and osteopathic manipulative treatment. Born and raised in Alpharetta, Georgia, Dr. Herrera was actually born at Northside Hospital Atlanta.

Dr. Herrera's training as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) in family medicine and sports medicine allows him to provide a wide scope of care for his patients by using a holistic approach to health. He is a primary care doctor who can provide care for all ages and is well-versed in diet, exercise, manual therapy with OMT and non-operative orthopedic procedures.
