In 2023, Avive Solutions, Inc. selected Forsyth County as its third 4 Minute City™ (4MC) Program. The Program aims to empower bystander response to improve survival rates of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest through data-driven placements of hundreds of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) throughout the community and a first-of-its-kind software system.
The 4MC is a collaboration between Avive Solutions and leaders in Forsyth County, including Northside Hospital Forsyth, Central EMS, Forsyth County Fire, Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, Cumming Police and Forsyth County Emergency Management/911.
As of December, the first 159 AEDs are in the hands of trained community members, ready to be dispatched by Forsyth County 911 to provide immediate assistance to cardiac arrest victims. With this new AED technology, emergency physicians can receive critical information about a patient’s condition before they arrive at the hospital.
