Justine Kersey shares the remarkable and emotional journey of becoming a mother to twins, Penelope and Peyton, born on May 13 at Northside Hospital Atlanta.
After years of struggling with infertility, Justine and her husband, Jake, were overjoyed when they learned they were expecting twins through in vitro fertilization (IVF). Justine opens up about the challenging weeks leading up to the birth, including her month-long stay in Northside's High-Risk Pregnancy (HRP) unit.
She also recounts the incredible support and care she and her daughters received during their 84-day journey in the hospital's Special Care Nursery, or NICU, and highlights the staff's unwavering dedication.
“We were surrounded by angels,” Justine said, expressing her deep gratitude for nurse practitioners like Brenda Shorter and Christine Kelly, who provided not only medical care but also love and encouragement every step of the way.
As the NICU chapter of their lives comes to an end, Justine reflects on the bittersweet emotions of leaving behind the nurturing environment where her daughters were so lovingly cared for. This video is a touching tribute to the incredible team at Northside Hospital who made a lasting impact on this family’s life.
