Endometriosis is a disease in which tissue, similar to the tissue that normally lines the inside of the uterus, grows outside of the uterus. The disease can lead to scar tissue, chronic pain and heavy periods. Roughly, 1 in 10 women will develop endometriosis over the course of her life.
Dr. Sinervo breaks down the symptoms of endometriosis and the variety of treatments available for women suffering from the disease.
