Northside and the American Heart Association

Each year, hundreds of Northside Hospital employees and their families join the effort to save lives at the Greater Atlanta Heart Walk.

The Heart Walk is the premier event for raising funds to help the American Heart Association save lives from heart disease and stroke, the No. 1 and No. 5 killers in the U.S., respectively.

“We are proud to partner with Northside Hospital year after year for our annual Heart Walk event,” Olivia Burton, senior development director of the American Heart Association in Atlanta, said. “Northside Hospital’s annual contributions to the Atlanta Heart Walk will help us fund lifesaving research to help save lives now and in the future.”

In past years, proceeds from the Heart Walk have funded CPR training for all Georgia high school graduates and automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) for local businesses.

The 2024 Greater Atlanta Heart Walk will be held on Sept. 21.

“February is Heart Month,” Burton said, “so on behalf of the American Heart Association, we would like to thank Northside Hospital for your continued support throughout the Atlanta community.”
