Northside Hospital's Canine Comforters provide physical, social and emotional therapy to patients and staff.
Part of our Northside Hospital Atlanta Auxiliary volunteers, each canine is certified and trained through Happy Tails Pet Therapy.
Regular visits can be arranged on weekdays. These visits are informal and brighten the day for patients who have to be away from home. Interacting with a well-behaved and well-trained therapy animal has been clinically proven to release calming endorphins in the brain, which causes an automatic relaxation response.
