In the past three decades, more than 10,000 children with special health care needs have been able to take part in camp activities at Camp Twin Lakes.
Camp Twin Lakes, with campuses in Rutledge and Winder, Georgia, allows children and teenagers from across the country to enjoy overnight camping experiences they might not otherwise be able to access such as zip lines, rock walls and horseback riding.
Since 2019, Northside Hospital has sponsored the camp’s annual Spin For Kids cycling event. In nearly 20 years, the event has raised more than $5 million and sent more than 7,200 children to camp.
“We are proud to partner with Northside Hospital, who has been a longtime supporter of Camp Twin Lakes in our mission to deliver therapeutic and transformative recreational experiences to children and families living with or affected by serious illnesses, disabilities and other life challenges,” Jill Morrisey, CEO of Camp Twin Lakes, said.
“With support from partners like Northside Hospital, Camp Twin Lakes will continue to provide accessible and therapeutic outdoor experiences to nearly 13,500 campers each year.”
The 18th annual Spin For Kids will be Oct. 6, 2024, at Camp Twin Lakes’ campuses in Rutledge.
