Nicole Danell Williamson, an African American woman, began losing weight suddenly in the fall of 2019 and was concerned it wasn’t a healthy weight loss. She saw a gastroenterologist, Dr. Dimple Raina, who performed a colonoscopy which revealed a large tumor — eventually leading oncologist Dr. Karthi Subbannan to diagnose Nicole with stage 4 colon cancer. Within weeks, Nicole began chemotherapy.
Four years after her initial diagnosis, Nicole is happy and living her life to the fullest thanks to the provision of Dr. Subbannan. The duo developed an unparalleled friendship.
