Northside Hospital Cherokee celebrated a milestone on Feb. 20 as it completed its 100th robotic-assisted bronchoscopy. The interventional pulmonology team began using this advanced technology in collaboration with the hospital’s Lung Nodule Clinic a year ago.
Northside Hospital Gwinnett began offering robotic-assisted bronchoscopy in 2023 and has already completed 100 cases.
On Dec. 21, Dr. Prasad Garimella, who oversees the Lung Nodule Clinic at Northside Gwinnett, performed the hospital’s 100th robotic-assisted bronchoscopy.

Third-space endoscopy provides organ-preserving treatment options for patients who otherwise may require surgery resection to address precancerous lesions or early cancers of the esophagus, stomach, small intestine or colon.
