Trauma Education and Injury Prevention

The Trauma Center's Injury Prevention & Outreach Program at Northside Hospital Gwinnett employs evidence-based strategies to prevent injuries and advocates for policies that enhance the health and safety of the community.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), injuries and violence are the leading cause of death among Americans aged 1 to 44, costing over $406 billion yearly in medical care and lost productivity. Despite the fact that some injuries are unintentional and cannot be avoided, many injuries are preventable.
