We believe each family is unique and deserves individualized family centered care. You and your partner have many options for your labor experience and we will make every attempt to accommodate your preferences unless it becomes medically inadvisable. Use this guide to help decide what is right for you.
No one can tell you what your birth experience will be like, but classes can help you feel prepared, confident and ready for the birth of your baby. Northside’s Maternity classes, such as childbirth preparation, infant CPR, baby essentials, and breastfeeding, provide answers to these questions through evidence based education and support. It is important to educate yourself during pregnancy by attending classes, sharing with other couples who have similar concerns and learning what to expect so that during labor and after birth, you understand what’s going on and can make decisions with your health care provider.
The focus of Northside’s prenatal education is to help you meet these needs in the highly complex and technological world that surrounds normal birth. When you choose Northside as a provider of childbirth education or any other prenatal classes, you are selecting programs taught by nationally-certified educators with creative and interactive teaching strategies that allow for questions, participation, state-of-the-art technology, flexible class schedules, and convenient times and locations that meet your needs.
